Buccellati launches the custom-made watch
Buccellato, horologer and jeweller, wished to launch a collection of tailor-made timepieces, titled Autore. While the brand already offered its clients the opportunity of creating their own jewels, Buccellati now offers its high-end clientele a chance of designing their own fine watches.
Some renowned watch makers already offer clients options on the colour and materials of their watches. Watch enthusiasts are invited to choose the materials, the watch’s mechanism as well as the general design and motifs.
Thanks to this new concept, the jeweller Place Vendome reaffirmed his place amongst fine jewellers and watchmakers. The price of a completely custom-made made is about 100 000 euros.
Autore, a personalised service
To set in motion his new concept, Buccellati entered a number of partnerships with suppliers such as ETA, Vaucher and Soprod, capable of supplying him with material in units. Thanks to these collaborations, the Italian jeweller is already able to answer 90% of his clientele’s demands.
To design their timepieces, clients receive help from advisors who will design the product in front of them with a CAD (Computer-aided design) software. Hence, future buyers will be able to see what their future watch will look like at modify it according to their desires.
Specialist advisors are also available if the client wishes to make further changes as well as Skype apointments.
For clients who wish to have a custom-made watch, Buccellati requires a 50 000 euros deposit. In exchange the brand guaranties that no copy will be manufactured.
