The French brand Céline launched its all new flagship in London. This one will be located in the famous Mayfair district, at number 103 Mount Street.
A boutique based in London
Céline the prestigious brand of ready-to-wear and luxury leather goods opened last March its new flagship in the heart of London. Despite having four corners in the London department stores such as Harrods, Selfridges, Harvey Nichols or Dover Street Market, the bran did not have a boutique exclusively devoted to itself in London.
Céline’s previous flagship in London closed in 2009. Hence, the opening of this new boutique amounts to a new beginning for the brand in the English market.
This point of sale, chosen by Phoebe Philo the brand’s artistic director since 2008, will only occupy one floor, which does nothing to take away the elegance in that the boutique occupies 600m².
The London flagship
Spacious and uncluttered, Céline’s new store has a very thought through design, where noble materials mix with a minimalist decoration. The walls are covered with Marmorino plaster, a wonderful contrast with the marble floor. With 6 000 stones, the marble appears to be wooden floorboards.
The London boutique will be divided in three distinct spaces around a central alcove. The latter will give access to the different spaces dedicated to the brand’s shoe, bag and ready-to-wear collections.
To create the store’s intimate atmosphere, Phoebe Philo requested the Danish artist FOS’ services. The designer imagined a series of contemporary furniture and accessories, golden chandeliers, lamps and concrete door handles, to give the store an air of sophistication.
