Move into Charlie Chaplin’s home

The Coldwell Banker Previews agency, specialised in luxury realty, recently put on sale Charlie Chaplin’s residence. Located in Hollywood, the villa is classified as an historical monument.


Charlie Chaplin’s villa for sale

One of Charlie Chaplin’s numerous properties was recently put on sale by the Coldwell Banker Previews. Baptised Patio del Moro, the villa was built according to the actor’s tastes.

It was built in 1925 on Fountain Avenue in a purely Andalusian style. Due to its unique style, the villa became a historical monument in 1986. The residence extends over two floors and still has its original charm.

Amongst the eye catching element of the villa, on the front arch appears, hand written, the villa’s name, Patio del Moro.



Chaplin’s villa, a piece of Hollywood’s history

The famous London actor lived for many long years within the walls of the Patio del Moro with his wife, the actress Paulette Goddard. Later, other famous Hollywood names took over the large villa, such as the American comedian Humphrey Boggart, Joan Fontaine or Suzanne Pleshette.

Today, the villa is waiting for its new owner for a price of about 4 million euros.




There are currently a few villas that once belonged to cinematographic arts available on the luxury realty market. Amongst them, Robin Williams’ villa is on sale for the record price of 30 million euros.
