Elegante, vintage and trendy, the Reverso invented in the 1930s survived the eras whilst conserving its prestige. During the SIHH 2014, the Grande Maison of the Vallée de Joux with a vast number of iconic watches such as the Duoplan and the Hybris Mecanica à Grande Sonnerie revisits one of its greatest watches : the Grande Reverso Ultra Thin 1931.
A watch of sporty elegance
Directly inspired by the original model, this new version of the timepiece Grande Reverso Ultra Thin 1931 with a chocolate-toned dial conserves its vintage style evoking the Art Deco.
The first Reverso was created in the 1930s when polo was the preferred sport to play. Polo enthusiasts quickly adopted this ingenious watch with a reversible case and became a must-have in the most influential circles of the time.
Since the success of the Reverso, Jaeger-LeCoultre continually reinvents its iconic model, everytime using innovative techniques and adapting the design to current trends.
The Grande Reverso Ultra Thin 1931
For the 80th anniversary of the Reverso, Jaeger-LeCoultre presented a new version directly inspired by the aesthetic codes of the epochal model. After the Grande Reverso Rouge with a deep red dial introduced in 2012 and the Grande Reverso Duoface Blue in 2013, the famous watchmaker concludes this magnificent trilogy with the Grande Reverso Ultra Thin 1931 with a chocolate-toned dial. This new model was enthusiastically received by watch connaisseurs.
The pink gold of the case pleasingly contrasts with the chocolat of the dial and the hand-crafted straps by Casa Fagliano. With its classic and reversible design this timepiece will be difficult to equal.
The Grande Reverso Ultra Thin 1931, watch with a hand-wound mechanical movement is currently available on Jaeger-LeCoultre’s official website.
