The jewellery and horology Swiss brand Chopard has once again to distinguish itself from its competitors with its ethical jewellery line. This eco-friendly approach to luxury has resulted in magnificent pieces.
Chopard and Eco-Age come together
Before starting its new eco-friendly collection, Chopard collaborated with the company Eco-Age, founded by Livia Firth and renowned for its expertise in the eco-luxury domain.
Thanks to this collaboration, Chopard launched in 2013 its first collection of ethical jewels. The latter was manufactured from gold mined in Peru and Colombia.
Originally 24 carats, the gold was transformed into 18 carats gold to effectively work into jewellery pieces.
Ethics as the heart of jewellery
The first collection of sustainable jewellery by Chopard was created in 2013. Certain pieces were worn by famous actresses during the Festival de Cannes, as a means to attract everyone’s attention towards the meaning behind these wondrous pieces.
The 20 pieces which composed the collection was sold extremely quickly, demonstrating women’s approval of the brand’s new cause.
The ethical jewellery collection includes earrings, rings, bracelets and cuff links. Each piece is set with certified diamonds.
