The group Chopard recently made the acquisition of the UHP company, proprietor of the Hotel de Vendome, one of the many renowned addresses in the French capital. This transaction illustrates the new strategy developed by the luxury group.
Hotel de Vendome bought by Chopard
Chopard, specialised in fine jewellery and horology, announced its recent acquisition of UHP, company which owned, amongst others, the Hotel de Vendome.
Similar to other groups evolving in the luxury sector, such as LVMH which bought the Cheval Blanc brand, the Swiss company Chopard continues to vary its activities by entering the luxury hotel business. Chopard explains that this acquisition is a way to ensure its network of boutiques’ future.
This transaction will allow the brand to increase its influence in the luxury sector.
Hotel de Vendome, a legendary address
The choice of this Parisian address by Chopard is not without significance, especially since one of the jeweler’s most beautiful boutiques opened on the hotel’s ground floor 10 years ago.
Furthermore, the 5 star establishment features 29 rooms including 10 suites, within a sumptuous building built in 1723. The place also hosts a fine gastronomy restaurant, Le Place Vendome, offering an elegant and authentic cuisine.
Location of prestige and excellence, and symbol of a unique savoir-vivre, the Hotel de Vendome represents the human values dear to the Swiss jeweler.
Chopard has not disclosed the price of the transaction.
