While the digital and technical capacities of the Google Glass was both surprising and fascinating to the public when they were first launched, their simple design, on the other hand, was not met with great excitement.
Aware that their design needed to be improved in order to increase Glass’ sales, the American group announced its desire to collaborate with a few influential names of the designer world. The aim: make Google Glass a trendy accessory. In March, Google announced its new partnership with Luxottica, a luxury group owning amongst others Ray Ban and Oakley.
In 2012, during the New-York Fashion Week, Diane von Fürstenberg’s models strutted down the catwalk wearing Glass. Always fascinated by technology, it came to no surprise that she agreed to a collaboration to imagine a whole new Glass collection.
DVF, the Glass collection imagined by the American designer, is composed of glasses and sunglasses.
