The car manufacturer Zagato imagined a uniwue edition of the Lamborghini Gallardo, presented at this year’s Concorso Eleganza Villa d’Este. Named Lamborghini 5-95 Zagato, this concept car was created in celebration of the Italian manufacturer’s anniversary.
Lamborghini 5-95 Zagato, a unique prototype
Every year Zagato participates in the annual Concorso Eleganza taking place at the Villa d’Este. In 2014, the car manufacturer did not make an exception; on the contrary, he participated with renewed fervour. Celebrating its 95 years, the company imagined an exceptional model for this once in a lifetime occasion.
The prototype designed by the brand, the Lamborghini 5-95 Zagato, revisits the traditional sporty Lamborghini, the Gallardo LP 570-4, with contemporary lines. Andréa Zagato explained his choice, “We have chosen the Gallardo because it is the most sensational project in Lamborghini’s history, an extraordinary car, perfect in engineering terms, that has brought the image of ‘the Bull’ from a ‘cottage industry’ to a worldwide major industrial reality.”
The new vehicle thought out by the Italian brand bears a code name. The number 5 of the Lamborghini 5-95 means that this is the fifth ‘bull’ car that the manufacturer has developed. The number 95 indicates the number of years during which the brand developed its savoir-faire since its creation.
The Lamborghini 5-95 Zagato’s fluidity
The new prototype developed by Zagato reveals more curves than the model which inspired it. The vehicle has the brand’s trademark double-bubble roof, a forward-leaning rear-end profile and two large six-point afterburner taillights.
The burnt-orange model has a wide-mouth and large secondary air intakes. Furthermore, the windows are larger and the car’s backside has been cut to reinforce its sporty and aggressive look.
The Lamborghini 5-95 Zagato was commissions by the revered car collector Albert Speiss.
