Every year during the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH) the famous watchmaker, Cartier introduces its new collections. The latest collections reveal Cartier’s extensive savoir-faire with poetic designs.
L’heure envoutée signed Cartier
Cartier’s new collection amazes with its design inspired by magic and fairytales. The French brand exceled in the creation of these timepieces effectively asserting themselves as jewels rather than mere time keepers.
Set with diamonds and other precious gems, this collection only reveals itself as watches at the very last moment, after great scrutiny of the jewel. With subtlety, diamonds transform into animals. A crocodile, a swan or the panther representative of the famous brand appear slowly but surely, revealing the timepiece previously hidden away.
A collection in the Art Deco style
Cartier really made a name for itself during the Belle Epoque, an period of extraordinary economic growth and affluence in France. The year 1910 was a turning point in the design history and influence of Cartier. Inspiration was found in exotic lands, Cubist painters such as Picasso and the bold colors and techniques of Van Gogh. Cartier’s art deco pieces are characterised by vivid colours.
For this new collection Cartier the high-end watches once again adorn coral, jade, onyx and diamonds. However, the clock evades our sight hidden within a story of precious stones. Brooches, bracelets and jewels, time is not limited to the wrist.
Once again Cartier’s ingenuity has successfully combined the complex mecanisms of a watch with the magic of a magnificent jewel.
