Bonnet, one of the first fine eyewear companies

Bonnet is first and foremost a family owned company. The brand’s history starts in 1930 under Alfred Bonnet’s initiative, an eyewear manufacturer specialised in the creation of gold and shell frames.

Later, he passed on his passion to his son, Robert who followed in his steps by creating the Maison Bonnet in 1950. The manufacture quickly distinguished itself amongst eyewear manufacturers by offering clients a large choice of luxury eyewear in shells and precious materials. These hand-made and custom glasses were mostly attractive to influential personalities of the time and were the source of the brand’s fame.

In 2000, Christian Bonnet, was left in charge of the company, and saw to the brand rewarded with the prestigious title of “Maitre d’Art”. Today, Maison Bonnet continues its journey with the same philosophy: giving clients the best high quality glasses.
