Inspired by the by-gone years, the Héritage Le Telfair hotel is nestled on the Bel Ombre domain, not far from the generous Frédérica Natural Reserve, south-west of Mauritius. Authentic lover’s paradise, this hotel is reminder that luxury does not need to rhyme with splendour.
For an objective opinion of luxury hotels across the globe, our team immersed themselves in some of these hotels. It is with great joy that we present today the Héritage Le Telfair hotel, in the Bel Ombre domain on Mauritius.
Héritage Le Telfair, a Mauritian hotel of ancient charms
Forget the traditional image of current deign hotels and imagine a colonial property where the white and impressive buildings greatly contrast with an interior of dark wood furniture. Welcome to Mauritius…a few years in the past.
Guests draw their inspiration for their day’s activities from a the island’s local charm and history: sunbathing around the pool, swimming in the lagoon, Mauritian massage in the Seven Colours spa, long walks through the Frédérica Natural Reserve to revitalise mind and body, or last but not least a game on the 18 hole golf course extending over 247 acres.
We recommend that you make a reservation for the excursion through the Natural Reserve. You might be lucky enough to see a deer, a wild boar, gekos or monkeys. For a complete immersion, don’t forget to bring your hiking boots. A visit of the reserve is also possible via 4×4.
To extend the “well-being” experience within the hotel, 4 weeks devoted to Pilate classes is organised by the establishment. The next Pilates Retreats will be taking place from October 4th to 9th 2014, from January 31st to February 5th 2015, from April 4th to 9th and May 22nd to 28th 2015. The Pilate sessions are free but we highly recommend that you make a reservation.
Culinary experiments within the Bel Ombre domain
To restore yourself, the hotel offers three different restaurants. Don’t forget to book a table at the Gin’ja on arrival to savour a diner of delicacies inspired by the best Asian specialties. For live cooking enthusiasts, we also recommend the teppanyakki.
For lunch, our choice would be the Le Palmier restaurant. The C Beach Club, only a few minutes away from the hotel, is ideal to talk and have a drink, but no need to stay for a meal.
To conclude your culinary experience, you might want to book a table at the castle to discover traditional Mauritian food.
Have a nice stay at Le Telfair hotel.
We also invite you to have a look at our immersion in Vietnam.
