On July 22, the Artcurial company will be organising an auction of luxury watches. The event will be taking place in Monaco at the hotel Hermitage, gathering some of the more prestigious houses in horology.
Luxury watches auctioned off in Monaco
For nine years now, auction house Artcurial hosts each summer an exceptional event where rare timepieces, precious and sophisticated, will be exhibited.
This year, the auction includes no less than 300 prestigious pieces and will be conducted by the specialist François Tajan. The greatest horology brands will be represented at the event, such as Rolex, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Vacheron Constantin and last but not least Patek Philippe.
Many of the watches planned to be auctioned off this July come from some of the most magnificent private collections of the world, some models are estimated between 40 000 and 150 000 euros.
Outstanding timepieces meet in Monaco
In 10 days Rolex timepieces will be at the forefront of the newt auction organised by Artcurial. The chronograph Rolex Daytona Paul Newman, who had not changed hands since its first acquisition in 1970, will be displayed beside the Rolex Sir Malcom Campbell, dating back to the 1940s.
The Swiss watchmaker Patek Philippe will also be present, in particular through two pieces from the 1950s and from 1965.
Finally, Jaeger-LeCoultre watch enthusiasts will have the opportunity to buy a watch bracelet manufactured by the brand. Made in platinum, the model has the special characteristic of being reversible and a sapphire cabochon.
Arturial’s luxury watches auction will be taking place July 22 within the Hermitage Hotel in Monaco. It will then be followed by a second auction devoted to high-end jewellery.
