The Italian shipyards Fincantieri launched a creation which has become the most well equipped yacht on the market, and considered the 12th biggest yacht in the world and could easily be represented as a floating city. The Serene combines sophistication and practicality by having on board a variety of recreational facilities, exceeding what one would expect of a super-yacht.
The Serene, a floating city
With its 2700m² and 134 metres long, 6 floors and 5 decks, the Serene is classified amongst the most impressive luxury yachts. Thanks to its 12 bedrooms, the vessel can accommodate up to 24 passengers in addition to its 52 crew members. It has a parental suite, a VIP cabin and 7 double bedrooms and 3 double bed cabins. However, despite its impressive volume it is first and foremost its many types of equipment aboard which contributed to its reputation.
The Serene hosts a wide range of activities, such as a gymnasium, a cinema and a beach club. Occupants will also find a sea water swimming pool inside, and hot and cold watered Jacuzzi’s on the main deck.
But still not satisfied by this, the yacht also has a boat hangar, two helipads and a submarine hangar.
A collector amongst super yachts
Far from being a mere cruise yacht, the Serene is sophisticated and has remarkable performances. A steel hull covers its aluminium superstructure lacquered in black and white. The yacht was drawn by the architect Espen Oeino.
The yacht’s uncluttered and refined interior, on the other hand, was designed by Raymond Langton Design, which selected comfortable and refined furniture for an experience aboard this luxury yacht bordering on perfection.
Its two propellers are motorised by eight diesel MTU 4000 engines for a cruising speed of 15 knots and 20 knots top speed.
This yacht was acquired two years ago by the Russian Yuri Scheffert for 242 million euros. The Serene remains one of a kind.
