The Italian ready-to-wear brand, Tod’s, decided to pay tribute to one of its legendary models, the Gommino. A website devoted to these shoes was created for this special occasion, inviting those who were the model to take picture of their shoes whilst wearing them.
Tribute by Tod’s
Tod’s recently launched a website with a participatory platform. Named Dots of Life, this online space invites Gommino enthusiasts to take a picture of themselves whilst wearing the legendary shoes and to post it on the website.
The Italian brand also invited a few celebrities of the fashion and digital world to play the game, such as blogger and ambassador of Louis Vuitton Chiara Ferragni, Benjamin Belin, evolving behind the scenes of the website Saywho, and the actress Kelly Rutherford. For those who wish to participate, they are invited to post their photographs on social networks such as Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest.
The best association of clothes with the Gommino will then be displayed on the website Dots for Life. The brand’s public will be invited to choose amongst all the pictures and vote for their favourite.
Gommino, an iconic model
Now belonging to the small circle of renowned international luxury brands, Tod’s owes its success to its flagship model, the Gommino. Originally, these shoes were designed for drivers, more specifically for racing drivers.
These traditional moccasins were entirely made by hand in Italy. The model is available in different colours, allowing each buyer to choose the shoes according to their personal style and taste.
